This race features the entirety of what Creekside Trails has to offer. Scenic tree-covered single-track, winding switchbacks, surprisingly cool views of farmland, multiple bridge crossings over a babbling creek (hence ‘Creekside’), and a post-race party just as memorable as the race itself.

The 9-mile course is one full loop through the trails. Two laps of this loop completes the 18-mile race and the 4-mile race splits the main loop roughly in half, sending you straight out to the Salt Creek section.

This is a challenging course. There are many ups and downs, twists and turns, and uneven surfaces. It’s a Midwest trail (no mountains), but it’s certainly not flat. The course is also incredibly fun and scenic and never gets boring. Come join us for a wild ride as we continue this Summer-time trail running tradition!

Don’t let the name fool you, there are no clubs or balls involved. This is a trail running endurance challenge like no other! The object of the game? Complete the routes with the lowest cumulative score and you win. Simple enough. But wait, “score”? Don’t you mean “time"? Not quite…

Here’s how it works: At the top of each hour everyone will start the same route, or “Hole”, of about 3-4 miles in length. Depending on the time window you finish in, you’ll receive a stroke score (“Birdie”, “Par”, “Bogey”, etc). 9 Holes in total for the 50k, 3 Holes for the 10-miler. Like in golf, the goal is to have the lowest score.

The time windows have been calculated for each Hole and are based on the total distance covered and overall pace (see table below). For example, if you run a 10-12min/mile pace for each hole, you’ll be hitting Par. For scoring, “Eagle” is always 2 strokes, “Birdie” gets you 3, “Par” is 4, and so on.

50K starts with Hole 1 at 9:00 AM
10M starts with Hole 4 at 12:00 PM

This race features beautiful woodsy single-track, relentlessly winding switchbacks, multiple views of lakes and ponds, and post-race festivities waiting for you at the finish line.

The well-established dirt trails are split into two sides with one being about a 2-mile loop and the other about 4.2 miles. The 10K course is one full loop through the trails while the 20K is two laps.

This course is not flat. It’s not fast. It’s very challenging. It is highly unlikely you will PR. However, it is incredibly fun, it’s scenic, and it will most certainly be memorable. Come discover this hidden gem and join us as we kick off the Spring racing season!
